Cross Culture Ships Mergemill 3.9
Upgrade Delivers New Lookup Extension, Online XML Access, and Various Improvements

HONG KONG -- February 16, 2005 -- Cross Culture Limited today announced the immediate release of Mergemill 3.9. This upgrade delivers several important new and improved features.

Lookup
Most database users keep data in a set of related tables for many good reasons. An items table may be related to a products table, or an invoice table related to customer details. Mergemill 3.9 fits the way users manage their information. To generate web pages from a relational database, a user simply exports the content and lookup tables into separate files, and includes the new Lookup Extension in Mergemill tags wherever appropriate in the templates.

Accessing Online XML Documents
Mergemill supports XML documents as source files since Dec. 2003. Version 3.9 takes this one step further by allowing users to specify URLs for external source files. This improvement opens the door to collaborative web publishing.

Other Improvements
An important improvement is that Mergemill 3.9 does not generate files with no dynamic content. This is particularly helpful where users have no control on the availability of online source XML documents.

About Mergemill
Mergemill is a versatile website development and database tool. It serves well in multiple parts of the web publishing workflow, especially when users need to web publish text-based contents. It may be used to quickly create thousands of static web pages from simple text files, spreadsheets or databases, to be published on the web or CD-ROM. Users can easily set up FTP accounts, and instruct Mergemill to automatically upload generated web pages to specified server directories. Source contents may come from any text editor, FileMaker Pro, Microsoft Access, 4th Dimension, Microsoft Excel, AppleWorks, or any database that can export data in XML, Merge or tab-separated text format.

Free web templates provided with Mergemill enable anyone to easily become a web publisher. Mergemill's rich set of tags for content and date insertion as well as branching and looping control also enable professional website builders or web developers to easily create static web databases.

System Requirements, Pricing and Availability
Mergemill 3.9 supports any PC running Windows 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP, and Server 2003. On the Mac it requires at least OS 9.22 or OSX 10.2.8. Its graphics processing features require Apple QuickTime. Customers can purchase Mergemill from the company's website (www.crossculture.com.hk) for USD 99 with the single user license. The upgrade is free for registered users of earlier versions.

Cross Culture Limited provides high-quality database solutions since 1995, and is committed to bringing the best software tools to users around the world.
